Somehow, hearing it in the original Spanish makes the words take on a new power. Whenever I hear basta used, it is usually a cry of exasperation. “Basta! Enough!” Yet here? Here it is completion. Solo Dios basta. He alone is enough. God alone suffices. May we believe it and live it.
