Feeling down and weary as winter drags on? Me too, friend! I'm exhausted! Guess what, though - even in that droopy-eye-nap-needing-daze, there is a spark in me just waiting to catch fire. It needs a little space to breathe and a little heat to get it going, but it is there. Yours is too!
A Little Help From My Friends
As I've been muddling my way through Lent, it came to me in prayer that I've never formally chosen a patron for my shop and ministry - a saint sister to walk alongside me and help fan that flame ... or cool it down if I'm going full steam ahead in the wrong direction! (It happens...)
It should come as no surprise that St. Teresa of Calcutta popped up in that prayer. Over the last year, I've felt a strong calling to create products that help to spread a little light into the darkness - your own or in others' lives. Imagine my surprise when I rediscovered "Come Be My Light" in my stack of books and came across this quote:
"If I ever become a Saint . . . I will surely be one of 'darkness.' I will continually be absent from Heaven - to light the light of those in darkness on earth." ~ Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Well, all righty then. That's settled. St. Teresa of Calcutta it is (along with the Blessed Mother since the word Fiat is also still following me).
Light That Fire!
This Spring, I want to help you capture that divine spark and share it with the world. If you're like me, life gets busy with work and family, and figuring out how to save the world takes a back seat much to your dismay. (Don't worry Brain - Pinky is still working hard on a plan!)
Until that plan surfaces, we will be launching a Mercy Line - products that give back when you shop. The first of the Mercy Line products will be the Rejoice in Hope Series. $10 of every purchase from this series will go toward helping families with children who suffer from Congenital Heart Defects. I'll be sharing more about the inspiration behind this line throughout the week on my Instastories - so get to Instagram and follow along!
Other series are still in the works, but one will go to benefit All Worthy of Love, a local organization helping victims of human trafficking, and another series will benefit Preemptive Love to help our brothers and sisters suffering in Syria. Stay tuned for more details on those!
Finally, each month, I'll be donating 10% of profits to a charity THAT YOU HELP ME CHOOSE! There are so many worthy causes that I can't possibly decide on my own. Y'all are going to have to help me narrow the field (choose wisely, Junior!). Get those voting fingers ready and be sure to follow me on Instagram to weigh in!
Until next time, go love 'em like Jesus and light the darkness, friend.
Blessings,
Rakhi
